As an EL Education school, GSMS sets goals around the three dimensions of student achievement: mastery of knowledge and skills, character, and high-quality work. GSMS challenges students to think critically, revise heavily, reflect on success and failure, and apply learning to meaningful projects that contribute to the community. GSMS offers a full array of academic and exploratory classes, as well as many enrichment and extracurricular opportunities. We have well-established and championship-level athletic programs, after-school opportunities such as the robotics team and cooking and babysitting classes, and school clubs such as Cougar Council and Rise Up! Our exploratory classes include choir, band, physical education, Spanish, STEM, and art. We offer advanced-level Spanish in 8th grade, Accelerated Math in all grades, and English Language Development for a variety of English learning levels.
