Dear Parents and Family Members,
We have just been notified that the 8th Street Bridge is not anticipated to be open to vehicle traffic until Wednesday, October 19. Originally, the bridge was expected to be open on October 18. As such, the following transportation changes will remain in effect through Thursday, October 20:
This schedule shows the route changes highlighted in yellow that will be in effect through October 20. This schedule will be available in the normal format, published in the paper, and posted on the website like normal.
The bus stop at 8th and Cowdin will move to 10th and Midland in order to avoid the construction in the vicinity of Cowdin. School Resource Officer, Chris Dietrich, and volunteers will assist in escorting students to and from their new stop via the Veltus Park pedestrian path.
In the morning, bus drivers and Glenwood Springs High School staff will conduct several student transfers from one bus to another. These transfers will occur at the High School.
Sopris Elementary School will serve as a transfer station in the afternoon for several busloads of Middle School students that live in South Glenwood in order to reduce the amount of buses sent to Glenwood Springs Middle School.
- Sack breakfasts will be served to Glenwood Springs Elementary School students arriving late to school.
